Global Awareness Programme (GAP) Overseas Learning Journey to Seoul and Xiamen
17 September 2026
P5 pupils visited Seoul and Xiamen for the GAP Overseas Learning Journey, exploring heritage, AI, and culture through local school exchanges.
This year, our school resumed its Global Awareness Programme (GAP) Overseas Learning Journey to Seoul and Xiamen. From 28 May to 2 June, selected Primary 5 students explored heritage sites, AI innovations, and SHHK’s heritage roots. Through interactive experiences and exchanges with students from local schools, they gained a deeper understanding of Korean and Chinese cultures while developing global awareness.
"It was a memorable experience in Seoul. I was fascinated by the Korean language I learnt from my Korean buddies and was excited to interact with them in both English and simple Korean. I also gained a deeper understanding of Korean culture and its innovative developments through the enriching itinerary arranged by the school. Overall, the Overseas Learning Journey helped me become more independent and responsible while away from home."— Claire Lie from Primary 5
"My trip to Xiamen was unforgettable. I explored Hakka Tulou, connected with students at Jimei Primary School, and developed independence, resilience, and self-discipline through meaningful cultural and learning experiences."— Jovan from Primary 5
