2022全国华文大比拼（小学组）-即兴演讲

Nan Chiau Primary School is the Champion of this year’s National Chinese Challenge (Primary Category)!

Organised by SPH Media Trust’s Chinese Media Group and Nanyang Girls’ High, the competition is an annual event to promote Chinese culture and cultivate an interest in learning the language. Participants get to showcase their language abilities and interact with other Chinese-language learners. In its ninth year, the competition attracted 4,258 students from 178 schools.

The online preliminary round was held on 26 March 2022. A total of 88 Nan Chiau students from Primary 5 and Primary 6 participated in the preliminary round. Our school emerged as one of the top 3 schools from the preliminary round. Teoh Bo Yu from 5KN is among the Top 20 in the National level under Individual category.

During the Team Finals held on 23 April 2022, the school team consisting of Liu Jun Qi (6IT), Chen Yu Xuan (5KN) and Chiao Bo Rui, Quinton (5GT) were tested on their knowledge of the Chinese language. This included translation of commonly used terms from English to Chinese, pronunciation, questions on literature, current affairs and general knowledge.

The team demonstrated their vast knowledge in both languages, strategizing skills and perseverance throughout the pre – finals preparation and during the finals, beating Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School and Nan Hua Primary School to clinch the top spot. Well Done boys!
