Playing traditional instruments like the oud, violin, and rebana, they brought the unique sounds of Singapore’s Chinese, Malay, and Indian communities to life right before our eyes! 🎻✨

Speaking the universal language of music! 🎻🎙️ One of our talented guest musicians shares the fascinating stories behind the violin and its journey across cultures. It was incredible for our students to learn how a single instrument can connect different communities right here in Singapore! ✨❤️

The Music Committee invited Pasat Merdu to perform at the first assembly of 2026. This performance explored how music travelled across borders, shaping identity and culture. Pupils had the opportunity to watch live performances featuring traditional instruments such as the pipa, rebana, oud, tabla and violin, representing the Chinese, Malay and Indian communities in Singapore.

Students clapped along enthusiastically and thoroughly enjoyed the performance, demonstrating their appreciation for Singapore’s rich multicultural soundscape.
